Updated: Aug 21, 2021

Making reindeer food has become a Christmas tradition here at Brynley Street Nursery & Preschool. This recipe is our extra-special formula made just for Santa’s reindeer and we are convinced they love absolutely love this treat because it disappears every year without a trace...

Easy (and Bird-Safe) Magic Reindeer Food Recipe

This extra-special reindeer food recipe is easy to make and bird-friendly (in case Santa’s reindeer leave behind crumbs). Here’s how to make magic reindeer food.

Reindeer Food Ingredients:

2 Cups Raw Oats

1 Tablespoon Red Sprinkles (or mixed sprinkles are fine)

1 Tablespoon Green Sprinkles

Bird Seed (optional)

Put all the ingredient's in a bowl & mix them together. Divide into cellophane food bags (or small Glad snap-lock bags). Makeup Reindeer Food tags (on the computer or by hand), fold over the top, and staple in place.

Make a wish and close your eyes tight,

Then sprinkle on your lawn at night.

As Santa’s reindeer fly and roam,

This food will guide them to your home!

Reindeer Food makes a fun and inexpensive holiday token to give family & friends. Why not create a new tradition with your child and scatter it on the lawn on Christmas Eve. Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen (and Rudolph)! need the occasional magic treat to keep their flying skills sharp.

Merry Christmas from the team at Brynley Street Nursery & Prechool
