STORY
We opened the doors to Brynley Street Nursery and Preschool in October 2008 with the dream of creating a beautiful space for the youngest members of our community to be nurtured, cared for and educated.
We believe it is essential for children to feel secure and valued when in our care. Therefore, our enduring vision is to create 'The Next Best Place to Home'... home representing a place of sanctuary and comfort, where we can be with our family, relax, laugh, be heard and be accepted. This notion of home underpins the service we offer our families.
We feel it is vital for children to engage with and explore a natural environment and to have fun while doing so. With this in mind, we offer large, well-considered play spaces, plenty of natural resources, large trees (attracting bird life) and an earthy colour palette throughout (to reflect our rural roots). In addition, we have organic gardens, chickens that lay eggs, rabbits & a resident cat named Franklin. Our pets are a part of our centre family.
We believe it is essential to have warm and caring teachers who demonstrate a passionate commitment to teaching children to be 'lifelong learners' while fostering solid relationships with children and families. Therefore, we have carefully selected our teaching team because they can demonstrate these qualities that are important to our service.

We are licensed for 10 children under 2 years and have two full-time teachers, both of whom are warm, knowledgeable and passionate about giving your baby or toddler the best start to their education.
The basis of our teaching at Brynley Street Nursery is inspired by Magda Gerber's RIE philosophy. This embodies the idea of respect for, and trust in the baby to be an initiator, an explorer, and a self-learner.
We offer a Nursery space for your child that is physically safe, cognitively challenging and emotionally nurturing. Your child will have plenty of time for uninterrupted play and the freedom to explore and interact with other infants and toddlers.
We celebrate and embrace the diversity of cultures of the families who attend our Nursery. You will see this diversity weaved through our curriculum.
As well as servicing the beautiful community of Hornby, Brynley Street Nursery is only a short drive (or walk) from Wigram, Hei Hei, Islington, Halswell, Prebbleton & Templeton, making it a fantastic option for families in our surrounding communities.

Offering a beautiful space for 25 children ages 2 to 5 years our experienced and passionate team of teachers will work alongside your child to provide learning & play experiences that will inspire in them a lifelong love of learning.
We use your child's interests to stretch their learning through play. Play is so valuable! It's a child's work! It is through structured and unstructured play opportunities that children learn math (counting, grouping, objects, colour identification and classifying), literacy (recognising letters, words, which way a book should go and vocabulary extension) and science (cause and effect). Here at Brynley Street Preschool, your child will have abundant opportunities to build friendships, exercise their imagination, explore their creative potential and advance on their natural strengths.
We offer 20 Hours FREE ECE for all 3, 4 & 5-year-olds. We can also help you to apply for a Work & Income Subsidy (greatly reducing fees for many families).
Open 7.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Morning, afternoon and full-day sessions are available.
